You can add your front-cover file to Amazon's KDP platform to self-publish a Kindle version of your book. You can also use this front cover, along with your back and spine designs, to self-publish paperback and hardcover versions via KDP. 

Please keep in mind, for physical books, you not only need designs for your book's front, book, and spine, but the files need to be properly aligned to the height of your book's printed pages.

A size alignment for physical printing is not included in our Cover Design service. However, we would be happy to do this for you if you place an additional order, for Paperback Formatting and/or Hardcover Formatting.

To self-publish a book on Amazon, you need a cover. However, you also need an interior file for your Kindle version, aligned interior and exterior files for your paperback version, and a description, categories, and keywords.

Theoretically, yes, you can create your own cover. However, unless you have graphic-design experience, your cover likely won't be as effective as one designed by an expert.

If you don't have an appealing cover that resonates with readers of your genre, the chances of people purchasing your book on Amazon will plummet. Without a great cover, many readers may not even bother visiting your book's page to check out your description.

Plus, creating a cover yourself takes a lot of time, while letting a professional handle it will free up many hours in your schedule.

If you're self-publishing your book, you have four main options for getting a cover:

1.) Doing it yourself. This can eat up a lot of your time. Plus, unless you're an expert graphic designer, you likely won't be as effective as a professional.

2.) Hiring a freelancer. Though many good freelancers are out there, plenty of them overpromise and under-deliver. Knowing whether or not you're choosing an effective one can be hard. Plus, if you go with a freelancer, you'll have to spend time managing the project. 

3.) Working with another company that provides self-publishing services. Though other companies provide similar services as Galdi Media, many force authors into restrictive, lifetime contracts that claim a significant percentage of a book's royalties. In addition, your point of contact at these companies likely won't be its president, or a #1 bestselling author.
